Please join us in prayer for the people of Northern California, where thousands are being evacuated from their homes due to multiple fires. Fr. Jeffrey Keyes, C.PP.S., writes that "Napa and Sonoma counties are on fire. Many people have been evacuated. Saint Eugene Cathedral (in Santa Rosa, Calif.) is being used as an evacuation center. Many parishioners have lost their homes. Prayers for those suffering from this fire would be appreciated."

Suffering heavy losses in the fire yesterday was Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rose, which was founded by the C.PP.S. in 1964. (The school shield still includes a chalice with the Precious Blood, signifying its connection to the Community, though Missionaries gave up their ministry at the school many years ago.)

School officials estimate that 15 to 18 of the school's 35 classrooms were destroyed in the fire.

Please pray for all of those in northern California who have lost loved ones, homes and property in the fire, and for all those who are still in danger from its devastating advances.
